Since the inception of Heritage, our desire has been to plant seeds of faith and hope and leave a legacy of faith, not just in our community but around the world. In 2009, a door opened for us to begin an intentional partnership in Nicaragua with missionary couple Rick and Mary Ervin who are part of CVM (Christian Veterinary Mission). Through this relationship, we are involved in several different areas of ministry geared to bringing the hope and love of Jesus Christ to the people of Nicaragua.
Beyond the Walls Food Pantry is a a ministry of Heritage Community Church. The mission of the Food Pantry is to provide physical and spiritual nourishment to our friends and neighbors who are in need.We are open for neighbors to pick up food, Monday, Wednesday and Thursday from 10 am - noon. There is a need for volunteers at each of these times to be God’s hands, His feet, and His smiling face as we share His love through meeting the physical need of food. For more information on serving at the BTW Food Pantry, please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
When Heritage Community Church relocated to the city of Fruitland Park, we asked the Lord for guidance in how to love and serve this community. Our first priority is to get to know our neighboring churches and see how we can partner with them to serve our community. Presently, we have a group of pastors from the Fruitland Park area, that are meeting monthly for prayer and encouragement. We believe that out of these relationships we are developing with our local pastors will flow an attitude of unity and service towards our city. Our focus will be bringing an environment of peace while generating opportunities of loving our community through service. The local school and our community leadership will be at the center of our efforts. We will live out our faith as ambassadors for Christ. Some ways we will serve are:
-Fruitland Park teacher appreciation day/ Back to school luncheons
-Monthly Teacher appreciation
-Fruitland Park City Government holiday luncheon
-Bless Fruitland Park Christmas Mission for children in need
-Fruitland Park Day involvement
-Fruitland Park Hometown Christmas event participation
Bless Fruitland Park, is not an event, but an environment that we desire to create as we network with other believers in the area for the Glory of God.
For more information on how you can participate or be involved in “Bless Fruitland Park” or one of it's outreaches, please contact us at email@example.com.
“Project legacy” began in 2010 with the agenda of connecting community leadership for the purpose of addressing the needs of area children and seeking to meet those needs by bringing awareness to the community. Our focus began with children in the Lady Lake area, but over the past three years has expanded out to Wildwood, Bushnell, Leesburg, Lake Panasoffkee and more.
Since inception, the Project Legacy team has been able to gift more than $90,000 to area programs and organizations impacting the lives of area children. All resources given are a direct result of individuals, civic groups, churches and businesses who share a heart for making a difference. Project Legacy isn’t an event driven organization but we are committed to creating an environment that brings awareness of the needs of our area children and using community resources to help meet those needs.
Below is a link to a video explaining why Project Legacy is so important to our community.
At Heritage we believe that schools are the cornerstones of our communities. As it has been said, “So goes the school, so goes the community.” Supporting our local schools gives us the opportunity to demonstrate the light of Jesus to the staff, administrators, children, and families. Our desire as a church family is to utilize God’s resources and partner with other believers in our community to be a consistent presence in our neighborhood schools meeting needs, showing appreciation and providing encouragement. Just like Jesus!
Some of the ways we are currently serving are the following:
-Baking and delivering homemade cookies to each school once a month
-Serving as mentors to individual children
-Providing school supplies and other resources
-Hosting a Back to School Breakfast for the Fruitland Park Elementary staff
-Hosting a Back to School Lunch for Wildwood Schools
The opportunities and needs in this mission field continue to unfold. Our prayer is that God will continue to open up ways for us to serve Him in our local schools. If you would like more information, know of additional ways to serve, or would like to join us in making an impact for Jesus in our communities, please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
